Moby-Dick is considered one of the greatest American novels ever written, and it is known for its epic scope, its complex characters, and its exploration of themes such as good and evil, fate and free will, and the nature of obsession.

Mark Twain

Mark Twain was born in Missouri in 1835. He was the son of a lawyer, and he spent his early years living in a small town on the Mississippi River. Twain's father died when he was 12 years old, and he was forced to go to work to help support his family. Twain worked as a printer's apprentice, a riverboat pilot, and a journalist before finally finding his calling as a writer.

Twain's first novel, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, was published in 1876. The novel was a fictionalized account of Twain's own childhood experiences. Twain's next novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, was published in 1884. Huckleberry Finn is considered one of the greatest American novels ever written, and it is known for its realism, its humor, and its exploration of themes such as race, slavery, and the nature of childhood.

Twain died in 1910, at the age of 74. He is considered one of the greatest American authors of the 19th century, and his works continue to be read and studied today.

Ernest Hemingway

Ernest Hemingway was born in Illinois in 1899. He was the son of a doctor, and he spent his early years living in a small town on the Mississippi River. Hemingway's father was a strict disciplinarian, and he often beat his son. Hemingway's experiences in his childhood would later have a profound impact on his writing.

Hemingway graduated from high school in 1917, and he joined the Red Cross during World War I. Hemingway was seriously wounded in Italy, and he spent the rest of the war in a hospital.
