In 1907, Hitler left Austria to pursue his dream of becoming an artist. He moved to Vienna, where he lived in poverty and struggled to make ends meet. In 1908, he was rejected from the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, and this rejection further fueled his sense of anger and resentment.
World War I
In 1914, World War I broke out, and Hitler volunteered for the German army. He served as a dispatch runner and was awarded the Iron Cross for bravery. Hitler was deeply affected by the war, and he was horrified by the suffering and destruction that he witnessed. He also developed a strong sense of nationalism, and he began to believe that Germany was destined to rule the world.
Rise to Power
After the war, Hitler returned to Germany and became involved in politics. He joined the German Workers' Party, which later became the Nazi Party. Hitler was a charismatic speaker, and he quickly rose through the ranks of the party. In 1921, he became the party's leader, and he began to develop his plans for a new Germany.
Hitler's Nazi Party promised to restore Germany to its former glory. They promised to create a new German empire, and they appealed to the fears and frustrations of the German people. In 1933, Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany, and he quickly established a dictatorship. He suspended civil liberties, banned political parties, and began to rearm Germany for war.
World War II
In 1939, Hitler invaded Poland, which started World War II. Hitler's goal was to conquer Europe and create a new German empire. He quickly conquered Poland, France, and much of Eastern Europe. However, his invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941 proved to be a turning point in the war. The Soviet Union was a much larger and more powerful country than Germany, and Hitler's army was not prepared for the harsh winter conditions.
As the war progressed, Hitler became increasingly desperate. He ordered the Holocaust, the systematic murder of European Jews. He also ordered the bombing of civilian targets in Britain and other countries. Hitler's actions led to the deaths of millions of people, and he will forever be remembered as one of the most evil men in history.
Downfall
In 1945, the Allies invaded Germany, and Hitler's regime collapsed. Hitler committed suicide on April 30, 1945, as the Soviet army entered Berlin. His death marked the end of the Third Reich and the beginning of a new era in world history.
Adolf Hitler was a complex and contradictory figure. He was a brilliant orator and a charismatic leader, but he was also a ruthless dictator and a mass murderer. His actions during World War II led to the deaths of millions of people, and he will forever be remembered as one of the most evil men in history.
