In 2002, a 12-year-old boy named Kim Deok-hyeon was hiking in the mountains of Afghanistan when he came across a group of terrorists. The terrorists took Kim hostage and held him for several weeks. During this time, Kim learned about the terrorists' plans to attack the United States. He eventually escaped and reported what he had learned to the CIA. The information he provided helped the CIA to prevent the attacks.
Kim Deok-hyeon was born in 1990 in a small village in South Korea. At the age of 12, he moved to Afghanistan with his family. His father was a teacher, and his mother was a doctor. Kim attended a local school and quickly made friends. He was a bright and curious boy, and he loved to learn. One day, Kim was hiking in the mountains when he came across a group of terrorists. The terrorists were armed with guns and explosives. They took Kim hostage and held him for several weeks.
During this time, Kim learned about the terrorists' plans to attack the United States. He overheard the terrorists talking about their plans to hijack airplanes and fly them into buildings. Kim was horrified by what he heard. He knew that he had to escape and report what he had learned to the authorities.
One day, Kim managed to escape from his captors. He ran for several hours until he reached a village. He told the villagers what he had learned, and they helped him to contact the CIA. The CIA sent a team of agents to Afghanistan to investigate Kim's story. The agents confirmed that Kim's information was accurate. They also learned that the terrorists were planning to attack the United States on September 11, 2001.
The CIA shared Kim's information with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies. The information helped the authorities to identify the terrorists and to prevent the attacks. On September 11, 2001, two planes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City. Another plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. A fourth plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the attacks.
Kim Deok-hyeon's information helped to prevent an even greater tragedy. He is a hero who saved countless lives. In 2002, he was awarded the Medal of Freedom by President George W. Bush. He is now a teacher in South Korea. He teaches his students about the importance of peace and understanding.
