The Crimean War

In 1854, the Crimean War broke out, and Seacole traveled to the Crimea to volunteer her services as a nurse. She worked in a British hospital, where she quickly became known for her skill and compassion. Seacole's work in the Crimea earned her the respect of both the British soldiers and the Russian prisoners of war.

The Civil War

In 1861, the Civil War broke out in the United States. Seacole traveled to the United States to volunteer her services to the Union Army. Later Life
