John B. Jennings was a Texas Ranger of great renown and tremendous skill. He served in the Texas Rangers for over 20 years and participated in some of the most famous events in Texas history.

Jennings was born in Tennessee in 1832. He moved to Texas with his family in 1846. Jennings joined the Texas Rangers in 1858. He quickly rose through the ranks and became one of the most respected and feared Rangers in the state.

Jennings was a skilled tracker and marksman. He was also a fearless fighter. He was involved in numerous gunfights and skirmishes. Jennings was also a skilled negotiator. He was often able to resolve disputes without resorting to violence.

Jennings served in the Texas Rangers during the Civil War. He fought in several battles, including the Battle of Gettysburg. Jennings was captured by Union forces in 1863. He was held as a prisoner of war for two years.
