I was born in North Korea, a country that has been described as the most isolated and repressive in the world. I grew up in a constant state of fear, knowing that I could be arrested or even executed for the slightest infraction. I was taught to worship the Kim family, the ruling dynasty, and to believe that North Korea was the greatest country on earth.

As I got older, I began to question the things I had been taught. I started to realize that the world outside North Korea was not as bad as I had been led to believe. I learned about the freedoms that people enjoyed in other countries, and I began to dream of a life beyond the Hermit Kingdom.

In 2014, I decided to escape from North Korea. I knew it would be a dangerous journey, but I was determined to be free. I made my way to China, where I lived in hiding for several months. I finally found a way to get to South Korea, where I am now safe.

My journey to freedom was long and perilous, but it was worth it. I am now living in a free country, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my story with the world.

The Escape

I left North Korea on a dark and stormy night. I had been planning my escape for months, and I knew that this was my only chance. I packed a small bag with a few clothes and some food, and I set off on foot.

I walked for hours, trying to stay off the main roads. I was afraid of being caught by the police, and I knew that if I was caught, I would be sent back to North Korea.

Finally, I reached the border between North Korea and China. I crossed the border illegally, and I was soon in hiding in China.

I lived in hiding in China for several months. I was afraid of being caught by the Chinese police, and I knew that if I was caught, I would be sent back to North Korea.

Finally, I found a way to get to South Korea. I paid a smuggler to take me across the border, and I was soon in South Korea.

I am now living in South Korea, and I am safe. I am grateful for the opportunity to be free, and I am determined to make the most of my life.

The Hermit Kingdom

North Korea is a totalitarian state. The country is ruled by the Kim family, who have been in power for over 70 years. The Kim family controls every aspect of life in North Korea, from the economy to the media.

North Korea is one of the most isolated countries in the world. The country has no diplomatic relations with most other countries, and its citizens are not allowed to leave the country without permission.

The North Korean government is very strict. Citizens are not allowed to speak out against the government, and they are punished severely for any infraction.

The North Korean government also controls the media. The only news that is allowed to be broadcast in North Korea is positive news about the government.

The North Korean government has a long history of human rights abuses. The government has been accused of torture, arbitrary detention, and extrajudicial killings.

The North Korean government is a threat to the peace and stability of the world. The government has developed nuclear weapons, and it has threatened to use them against other countries.

I am grateful for the opportunity to be free. I am determined to make the most of my life, and I am committed to helping others who are still living in North Korea.
